Service Club scholarship applications being accepted

January 05, 2022

The Service Club of Carnegie announced applications for the Service Club of Carnegie’s Continuing Education Scholarship can be picked up at the Bank of Commerce in Carnegie. The purpose of this scholarship is to promote education beyond high school for students that have graduated from Carnegie High School. Each applicant must be a graduate of Carnegie High School, as well as have completed 26 hours of collegiate studies or one year of post high school vocational technical training, and must be currently enrolled in college or vocational technical school. The applicant must also be committed to continue studies within the next year. Last year’s recipients of this scholarship were Tate Buster, Karlee Graham Dearman, Charnel Lindsey, Sydnee Peters, Jake Watson and Rachel Willis. They each received $500.

Funding for this year’s scholarship came from the sale of poinsettias during November and December of last year. The Service Club of Carnegie’s heartfelt thanks go to all the businesses and individuals who purchase poinsettias and helped make this scholarship possible. Poinsettias were sold again this year with great success. Be sure to watch the paper for when to start placing your orders in 2022 for these beautiful Poinsettias.
