Carol Jean (Cody) Bronaugh

Carol Jean (Cody) Bronaugh, 85, of Carnegie, Oklahoma, received her heavenly wings on January 11, 2022. She was born on July 25, 1936 to Albert and Pearl (Tonahcot) Cody in Lawton, Oklahoma.

Carol attended the Alden school, Riverside Indian School, and later graduated from Haskell Institute. She graduated from the Caddo-Kiowa Vo-Tech School of Culinary Arts and Cosmetology. Aside from being a dietary assistant at Carnegie Nursing Home and working for Whittaker Cable Company, she has also been mentioned on the front page of the Daily Oklahoman for the best frybread in Oklahoma. During her lifetime, she was a proud member of the Albert Horse/Cache Creek United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her church members and grandchildren. As a sister, mother, aunt, and granddaughter. Carol was a loving and caring woman, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by sons, Albert Bronaugh of Norman, OK, Jack Bronaugh of El Reno, OK; daughters, Rhonda Goingkeen of Anadarko, OK and Donita Bronaugh of Carnegie, OK; sister, Lavonne Youngblood Topfi of Chickasha, OK; and grandchildren, Albert Gene Bronaugh, Robert Daniel Bronaugh, Martin Thomas Bronaugh, Mia Genese Downing, David Lee Goingkeen III, Bruce Lewis Goingkeen, Travis Cody Bronaugh, Rachel Mary Verna Reyes, Alanna Grace Bronaugh, Jonathyn Landin Bronaugh, Juanita Lynn Bronaugh, Gracie Kaye Bronaugh, Kailyn Mackenzie Bronaugh, Jonas Linden Bronaugh, Juandee Lilly Bronaugh, and Johnson Leelyn Bronaugh. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Noah Jaylin Goingkeen, Deven Dayne Goingkeen, Mila Jolene Goingkeen, Nila Rose goingkeen, Bruce Wayne Goingkeen, Roman Wade Goingkeen, Jackson Robert Downing, Allie Davis Thompson, Robert Thomas Gene Bronaugh, Landin Gene Bronaugh, Journei Rage Bronaugh, Avery brandon Ohmsatte Jr., Kyro Anthony Bronaugh, Dayrianna Woods, Logan Woods, Sarah Grace LittleSun, Rae'lynn LittleSun, and Zach'arius LittleSun.

She was preced in death by her husband, Gene Bronaugh; daughter, Celeste Bronaugh; parents, Albert and Pearl Cody; sisters, Flora Bell Tsoodle, Vernola Wolf, Donna Navarro, and Christine Cody; and brothers, Scott Cody and Spencer Cody.

A Fellowship dinner was held at Cody's home place after graveside services. Visitation was from 1-8 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, and from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, OK.

A Wake was held from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home Chapel, Carnegie, OK.

Services were under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
